One of my must-sees during my September 2012 trip to New York City was The Highline. The Highline is a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side.*
Beautiful views……
Deliberately designed plantings……
What’s not to love about a NYC plank?
More beautiful views……
Kevin (I think that was his name!) hard at work keeping everything beautiful.
He took time out to explain a lot about The Highline.
I think Hurricane Sandy created quite a bit of repair work for Kevin and his co-workers.

Prayers to the Northeast who have endured the wrath of Sandy-
Amen……… I keep thinking what a perfect time it was for me that weekend. (Although that weekend there was a crazy storm that threatened 50 mph winds and stuff……..just a crazy fall!!).
Hi Paula, I hope thing are not really bad. Our Prayers are with all.

Have a great WW. 🙂
I hope the same thing!! New York holds a very dear place in my heart; it’s going to be a challenge recovering (but they will!!).
I have never been to NY but I hope to make it there one day. My thoughts are with everyone who has been hit by this terrible storm

Molly – I hope you get to go. And when you do, divert yourself a little from the Touristy beaten path. That’s where at least half the magic is. 🙂
