Tomorrow (October 17, 2012) is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. For this day, Bead for Life is encouraging those of us who have these wonderful pieces of jewelry to wear them.
I’ll do exactly that!
(And I have registered my participation via this link (there are prizes!!))
(I’m not the only family member who wants to be involved…..)
(Bead for Life is a program through which impoverished women in Uganda make jewelry and shea butter products that are sold to help improve their lives. I bought my necklace at a Bead for Life party.)
This is Laker Fatuma. You can read her story here.
Wife of one, Mom of two, Friend of many. My pronouns are she/her/hers.

Hi Paula, I’m Anne from Life on the Funny Farm (http://annesfunnyfarm.blogspot.com), and I’m visiting from WWHop.
Great beads, wonderful program! I’ll pin this so I can remember this for gift ideas. Thanks!
Anyway, it’s nice to “meet” you! Hope you can pop by my blog sometime to say hi…

Hi Anne, thanks for stopping by. Do check out their site for gift ideas; the jewelry is very affordable (as well as going for a good cause) and although I didn’t talk about it here, the shea butter lip balm is AWESOME!!! I’m headed to your blog now!
